Practice Team

Our team of eleven doctors including a GP registrar, one advanced nurse practitioner, three nurses, and three healthcare assistants work together to provide our patients with an excellent medical service.

We have a dedicated management team, receptionists, and administrative staff to help you get the most out of your services.

We also receive support from other visiting healthcare professionals, including counsellors and community nurses.

Dr Virginia Bearn

Dr Virginia Bearn

BM(Southampton) 1984

Dr Bearn has been with the practice since 1992. She is experienced in all areas of general practice, and has a special interest in women's health, babies, children, and adolescents. She runs our child development and immunisation clinics. She has three quite grown-up children, some of whom may be seen working in reception at times!

She sees patients Monday, Tuesday and Thursday Morning.

Dr Katherine Barnes

Dr Barnes joined the practice in 2002. She is experienced in all areas of family medicine and general practice. She has a special interest in women's health, contraception and children. She works part-time, and when away from the surgery is busy looking after her four children and dog Molly.

She sees patients most Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Dr Panduka Ubayasiri

Dr Ubayasiri has been with the practice since 2008. He has a special interest in general medicine, ophthalmology, dermatology, and medical education. He has two sons.

He sees patients Monday to Friday except Tuesday mornings, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons and most Friday afternoons. He works a late extended hours clinic on a Tuesday evening.

Dr Tom Bailey

Dr Bailey has been with the practice since 2008. He enjoys all aspects of general practice and has a special interest in diabetes, muscle and joint problems, and dizziness. He runs the Fresh Start alcohol clinic, seeing patients on Monday mornings. He has two children and a French wife.

He sees patients Monday and Tuesday afternoons, Tuesday late clinics (6:30-8:45pm), Wednesday morning and afternoons, and Thursday and Friday mornings.

Dr Saima Shah

Dr Shah has been with the practice since 2008. She has a special interest in dermatology and medical education.

She sees patients on Wednesday mornings only.

Dr Lucinda Stephenson

European Certificate in Essential Palliative Care

Dr Stephenson has been with the practice since 2013. She has a special interest in women's health, palliative care and runs a coil clinic once a week in her Thursday morning clinic.

She sees patients Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays morning and afternoon and Thursday mornings.

Dr Hallett joined the practice in August 2014. He has an interest in sports medicine, injuries and joint injection. He is also interested in expedition medicine and men's health. Away from work he enjoys playing all sports; especially golf, squash and tennis; and in the winter season loves skiing.

He sees patients Monday to Friday except Tuesday and Wednesday afternoons.

Dr Allen joined the practice in 2015. He is experienced in all aspects of general practice. He has a special interest in dermatology and musculoskeletal problems. He performs minor surgery and joint and soft tissue injections. He works full time.

Dr Katharina Kunert

Dr Kunert has recently started at the practice. She has a special interest in contraception and runs a coil clinic once a week in her Thursday morning clinic. She also fits the contraceptive implant.

She sees patients on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Dr Catherine Ramsey

Dr Ramsey enjoys all aspects of general practice but has a specialist interest in diabetes and family planning. Separately to working at Heathbridge she helps run the Kingston Chambers Diabetic service. She has 3 young children who keep her busy.

Dr Ramsey works Tuesday morning and Wednesday afternoon.

Dr Thomas Koczian

GP Registrar

Dr Koczian is currently in his final year of training in General Practice and has been with the practice since 2017. He will be staying on with the practice after his training is complete in 2018. His interests lie in general medicine, contraception and palliative care.

He see’s patients Monday to Friday, except Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons.

Jo is a practice partner, nurse practitioner, prescriber and nurse teacher. She joined the practice in 2002.

Jo can independently diagnose, treat and prescribe. She is experienced in managing many medical conditions and has a particular interest in managing emergencies, minor illness & helping resolve all sorts of patient problems. She also enjoys keeping up her expertise in practice nursing.

Jo manages the practice nurse team and works on a Tuesday and Thursday. Jo is local and often spotted racing around Putney after her 3 children!

Lisa Smellie

Practice Nurse

Lisa Smellie, nurse Practitioner. Lisa became a practice nurse in 2001 after working in hospitals for nearly 10 years. She is able to provide all aspects of Practice Nurse care and is particularly interested in diabetes and tissue viability (wound care), however she loves seeing a broad range of patients and engaging with the young and old.

Alice Pengilly

Practice Nurse

Alice joined the nursing team in early 2015 and has been nursing for over 30 years. She has a background in A&E and vascular nursing before becoming a practice nurse. She provides a wide variety of practice nursing duties including smear taking, family planning, travel health and childhood immunisations. Alice is very experienced in wound care.

Sarah Jolly

Sarah is an experienced practice nurse and midwife. She is able to provide all aspects of Practice Nurse care, in particular family planning advice, well-woman screening, travel health, and baby immunisations. She is also a registered midwife and practises at Kingston Hospital. She can provide pre-conceptual and early pregnancy advice and routine ante natal care.

Lesley Costa

Healthcare Assistant

Lesley has been a healthcare assistant for 10 years and offers a variety of services including; blood tests, 24 hour blood pressure monitoring, spirometry, ECGs, ear irrigation and NHS health checks, including lifestyle and dietary advice. She is also available to administer flu and pneumonia vaccinations and B12 injections. Lesley is also a smoking cessation advisor.
