Doctor talking to private patient

Do I have to be registered as an NHS patient with the practice to use the private services?

No. But we will require you to complete a Private Patient registration form. It is also important that we have information regarding your general health and medical history, hence if you have a current GP we would like to be provided with their contact details. If you don’t have a GP and we feel that a fuller medical picture is required before treatments take place, we will ask you to undertake a new patient consultation/screening examination for which there will be a fee.

Prescriptions

Private prescriptions resulting from consulations are issued free of charge. Repeat prescriptions issued without a consultation will be charged. However, you should be aware that the Pharmacy will charge you the full cost of the medications involved and in many cases a small private prescription handling fee. Some prescription drugs are quite expensive. The doctor will be able to advise you of this.

Missed Appointments

Please let us know as soon as possible if you cannot make an appointment, so we can allocate it to someone else.

Telephone Consultations

Telephone consulations for a new problem or resulting in a referral or prescription may incur a charge.

Payment & Medical Insurance

Payment is due on the day of consultation.

We accept most major credit/debit cards (except Amex), or cash.

If you have medical insurance that covers your treatment, please note that the practice does not invoice insurance companies directly (this may differ from other elements of your treatment, if for example you are referred to a private hospital who will normally be paid directly by the insurance provider). We will provide you with a receipt and if required help complete your insurance company claim form so that you are reimbursed promptly.

We recommend you check with your medical insurance regarding cover and any limitations prior to commencing treatment.
