Patients born before 2015
Patients born before 2015 are unlikely to have received the meningitis B (MenB) vaccine, as this was not introduced into the routine childhood immunisation programme until 2015.
If there are any future meningitis or other vaccination campaigns relevant to you or your child, we will contact you directly.
Under 25 and aged 14 or over
If you, your child or a young person is under 25 and aged 14 or over (this is when the MenACWY vaccine is usually given in school), you can check whether the meningitis ACWY vaccine has been received. This is often recorded on the NHS App, in information provided by schools that you keep at home, or in some cases in the Red Book, as the vaccine is delivered through school-based programmes.
If you are unable to find this information at home, you can contact the practice to request a check of your records. If the vaccine is required, we will send you a booking link to arrange an appointment.
We kindly ask that you check your records at home before contacting us where possible, as we are currently managing a high volume of enquiries and may not always have immediate access to historical vaccination information.
