Travel Vaccinations

If you're planning to travel outside the UK, you may need to be vaccinated against some of the serious diseases found in other parts of the world.

Vaccinations are available to protect you against infections such as yellow fever  , typhoid, rabies  and hepatitis A.

Not all these vaccines are available free of charge on the NHS. Vaccines free on the NHS are limited to polio (as part of tetanus diphtheria and polio - single vaccines), typhoid, hep A and cholera.

In the UK, the NHS routine vaccination schedule offers you protection against a number of diseases, but this does not cover all of the infectious diseases found overseas.

Due to the limited availability of nurses to deliver a full travel service at Heathbridge, we need to limit appointments to protect other essential nursing appointment availability. This means we will only offer the NHS free vaccinations and not the comprehensive range of travel vaccinations available in travel clinics and pharmacies.

Travel vaccinations can be accessed through many different travel services through travel clinics and pharmacies, including Husbands Pharmacy in Putney.

Please use the link below to identify if you need the NHS vaccines we can offer at this time (polio, typhoid, hepatitis A and cholera).

If you identify that one or more of the above vaccines is required for your travel, please contact the practice.

You will be asked to complete a questionnaire to ensure you require NHS vaccination. We will then offer you an appointment.

We recommend all patients still seek expert travel advice to ensure a comprehensive pre-travel assessment has been made before travelling.
